Sports Massage: What to expect

During a sports massage session, expect a combination of techniques such as deep tissue massage, stretching, and joint mobilisation to target areas of tension.

When it’s time to get onto the massage bed it is recommended that certain items of clothing are removed to allow the therapist access to the body parts needing treatment. The therapist will leave the room and return once you are on the bed and covered by the towels provided.

If you do not wish to remove any items of clothing this is ok. Please just let the therapist know, the therapist are trained to work with cloths on to. The therapist will work closely with you to understand your unique needs and tailor the massage

Injury prevention program: What to expect

The session will typically involve a combination of assessments, exercises, and education aimed at identifying and addressing potential weaknesses or imbalances in the body.

The focus will be on improving strength, flexibility, stability, and technique to optimise biomechanics and reduce the likelihood of injuries during sports or physical activities.

It is recommended that you wear sports wear to this session and bring a drink. Depending on the stage of the program these session are mainly physical exercises.

During the session, you can expect to lie comfortably on a massage table while a trained therapist uses gentle to moderate pressure and long, flowing strokes to address your entire body.

In a Physical Therapy session, you can expect a personalised and goal-oriented approach to help you recover from your specific injury. The session will typically involve a combination of exercises, stretches, and manual therapy techniques targeted at improving mobility, strength, and function.

We Recommend sports wear for these sessions & you maybe asked to remover socks and shoes in these sessions.

The therapist will work closely with you to assess your condition, develop a rehabilitation plan, and guide you through the process of regaining your physical abilities and returning to your sport or daily activity safely.

Initial consultation: What to expect

During  your initial consultation , you can expect a thorough examination of your injury or pain complaint. The therapist will assess your range of motion, muscle strength, and any areas of tenderness or inflammation to identify the underlying cause of your discomfort. They may also ask you questions about your medical history and perform specific tests to gather more information.

Depending of the area of discomfort you may be asked to remove certain items of clothing, so we always recommend shorts and t shirt a bra/sports bra for women if needing to look at upper body issues.

Based on the assessment findings, the therapist will recommend a treatment plan, and discuss the expected outcomes to help guide your recovery process.
